Region: Carmel GPS Coords Access: Beach,Boat Level: Intermediate,Advanced Access Information: You generally want to enter the water pretty far to the north side of the beach where you get protection from the kelp. Watch out for the surf since the beach is very steep, the surf zone is short and the power of the breaking waves is concentrated in a small area. There's nice stuff in the shallows in the kelp bed, there's a nice boulder area in the 60FSW-100FSW range, and then there's a wall that drops away into a trench.
